CARO BOWL
Little Island Women's and Head Men's.
Last Friday night CARO BOWL Results:
Head Men's Parnell Tennis secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Blockhouse Bay, thanks to a stunning performance by Ben Cawston who clinched a crucial win in a thrilling third set battle against Victor Romero. Our team's strength was bolstered by the addition of Rubin Statham and and strong combination with our most experienced team member, Andrew Turner.
Blockhouse Bay fielded a formidable and youthful team, and our number 2 player, Rhett Purcell, fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed in a fiercely contested third set against Jonty Giesen. Meanwhile, Aden Borlase-Mills, playing number 4, faced a closely contested two-set loss.
Our Little Island Women's team demonstrated their prowess with a resounding 6-0 victory against Pakuranga. The team consisted of Sarah Wardenburg along with Megan Rogers, Pavlina Nola and Jacqueline Anderson, the latter two playing regularly in our champion Ferrier Cup team.
The Ladies returned to the court on Sunday for a match against Royal Oak, who presented a youthful lineup. Parnell emerged triumphant with a 5-1 win. Special recognition goes to our most dedicated player, Pavlina, who displayed remarkable stamina by participating in Carobowl singles and doubles on Friday and Sunday, and then contributing to the Ferrier Cup team win on Saturday. The team, led by Sarah Wardenburg and featuring Sadheera Weerapperuma at the number 2 position and Senior Club champion Una Misic at number 4, showcased their resilience and determination, with Una securing a hard-fought three-set victory.
Thanks to our sponsors, Little Island, Head and Sals Pizza.
