Our 150th celebrations kicked off on Friday night with a cocktail evening at the club. Principal sponsor Jaguar had one of their top-of-the-line Jaguar F-Pace Type R sportscars on Peter Fletcher court for the evening. Members were seen queueing to sign up for a chance to win the use of the car for a weekend.

The cocktail evening saw more than 200 present and past members pack the club for several hours of reminiscing and frivolity. Ex-president and life member Ru Douglas performed the opening mihi, which was followed by a rousing rendition of Sweet Caroline as the closing karakia. This was followed by a welcome speech from current president Graeme Fraser, and then everyone enjoyed a wonderful few hours catching up with old friends and acquaintances. The evening ended with some energetic dancing from the true stayers.
